I grew up in the building business . My father was a high -end home builder for more than 50 years . Alex with Formula A&J is the best tile designer I have ever worked with. He is meticulous in his planning and fabrication . All of this results in consistent unmatched delivery of a superior product. He is able to do things that most tile companies don’t have the skills to do.

I was redoing our guest bathroom as a DIY'er and when I got to setting the large format tile, I realized it was going to be more than I had the time to handle. I hired Alex to set the tile in this alcove tub and shower area. He was able to come on the first weekend after I reached out and work over a Saturday and Sunday at his own behest. His attention to detail was excellent and made my job of grouting and caulking so much easier. Alex exceeded all expectations and when I take on the master bath area in due time, I already know that Alex will be the person I call back to rehire for that job.
Alex did a fantastic job!! Was very clean from the moment of arrival. He made sure to keep our house and bathroom super clean through the entire process bringing his own rugs and making sure to cover walls while working. This is the second project we have had Alex complete. The first project was a challenge due to an older house that had moved/settled over the years. This required a fair amount of angle calculations resulting in a finished product that’s flawless and should not move for a considerable amount of time due to the way everything has been tied together. This project was not nearly as challenging, but end result is perfect. Alex is now a trusted contractor for our future projects and he will be the primary consideration, we look forward to working with him on our next project.
I have worked with Alex a couple of times now and in each of the engagements, Alex has been the utmost professional and an extremely reliable contractor. Alex is very detail oriented and ensures that the job gets done correctly the first time. His estimates are very reasonable and you never have to worry about unreasonable hidden charges once he starts the work. Alex is also very talented in his craft and his work is very clean. We had been looking for some time to have our bathroom remodeled but a plumbing failure and complete replumb brought it up the priority list. We have had other trades people perform work and some were good, some bad, but mostly average and with so many options it’s a lottery what you will end up with. This time our expectations were exceeded with Alex. There were many instances where I was impressed. He turned up on time, was patient with our scope of work changes and understood that sometimes it take the customer a few days to ponder on layout, color, sizing. We stayed within budget despite our design changes, and one misunderstanding which was our fault. Also the room was challenging as it’s on the third level of the house and the construction is 30+ years old with inconsistencies in level. On one level there was a 1 inch variance which Alex expertly navigated. Craftsmanship in this situation was impressive, especially when dealing with ceramics. a couple of suggestions for prospective clients, buy good quality tile, take your time when considering design changes as there’s a very good chance your initial plan will evolve as the project progresses. We have suggested to Alex and Julia that we are ok if someone wants to see the completed project in person.

We live in a concrete block Dunwoody house built in 1963 and in desperate need of a complete makeover. This past year our house was flooded and we were forced into doing a complete renovation of the kitchen, two bathrooms and more. Alex came highly recommended to us to do the tiling - walls and floors. Hiring him was the best decision we made. He is an artist and master of his trade. And he’s not afraid to think outside the box. Everyone who visits us comments and admires his work. My floors suddenly became the center of conversation with every guest. The master bathroom was transformed from 1963 budget motel into a 2023 5-star hotel — just beautiful. Everything has been done with super attention to detail and done according to our wishes. We had many areas that were structurally problematic but Alex always seemed to find a solution. Alex is no “wham, bam, thank you ma’am”! If you’re in a hurry you can find someone to slap it all together. But if you want someone who will treat your home as if it’s his own, Alex is your guy. And there’s a bonus — he’s a really nice guy.
